Celery, Cabbage and Cucumber
Shred the cabbage, cut the celery into tiny items, and mix with dressing, place on the plate, and when sprinkling with hickory nuts chopped fine, fence in with long strips of cucumber.
Sliced Beets in Lemon
½ cup lemon juice eight boiled beets
1 cup water 1 bay leaf
2 tbsp. brown sugar ? tsp. salt
Add salt, sugar, and lemon juice to the water, and bring to a boil. Into the new liquid, slice the cooked beets, add the bay leaf, and cover with a plate to stay below the liquid, and let cool. These slices could be served with cabbage, lettuce, or cucumber.
Carrot Salad
Shred tender carrots, mix with chopped pecan meats, garnish with lettuce and finish with a teaspoonful of dressing.
Carrot and Lettuce

Shred the amount of lettuce required, and mix with one third as a lot of shredded carrot, and mix with
raw, unroasted cashew nut meats broken; place on a bed of raw spinach, with mayonnaise on prime of every dish.
Beet and Cabbage
Shred enough tender, well-washed and dried beets to compose one third of the mixture, and for the other two thirds, shred tender cabbage, mix with pecan meats (others could be used), and mayonnaise, half and half with whipped cream. Serve on lettuce. Water Cress and Carrot
Cut fine, well-washed and dried water cress, and shred an equal quantity of cabbage; mix with mayonnaise and unfold on the salad plate; place a circle of tomato in fine slices on this, and a helping of cottage cheese within the center.
Potato Salad
Boil the amount of potatoes required with skins on, and take away the skins, salt the potatoes, dice, and add the following: one cucumber tiny enough so the seeds are still tender, wash and dice. Aloe Berry Nectar contains all of the vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes found in our Aloe Vera Gel, plus the added benefits of cranberry and apple. Chop beets fine prepared as given within the recipe for “Sliced Beets in Lemon,” and cut fine celery stalks and leaves, using an equal quantity of every of those vegetables, which should compose an equal quantity with the potato. Stir in mayonnaise, and add the other vegetables already salted, to this. Do not mix till prepared to serve.

Carrot and Rutabaga
Shred equal amounts of tender carrots and rutabagas, and mix with one third as a lot of shredded lettuce to grant selection in color. Mix all with dressing, and serve on a bed of Swiss chard.
Tomato Sandwich Salad
Place a slice of tomato on crisp lettuce, unfold with cottage cheese seasoned with chopped celery, chopped parsley, and a very little cream; place a slice of tomato on prime and garnish with water cress. Olives could additionally be used instead of cheese.
Coleslaw
3 tbsp. lemon juice half-dozen tbsp. cream
1½ tbsp. brown sugar ¾ tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients thoroughly, mix with shredded cabbage or lettuce. Serve cold.
Dressings
For use in salad dressings the following list of oils is given, putting them within the order of their greatest price, the best first: Olive oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, corn oil, and alternative vegetable oils. It should be remembered that not all the salad oil placed on the market, labeled, “vegetable oil,” can be recommended.
